the little things — october
- i can’t wait for the weather to turn chillier, so I can wear my new beautiful coat! Who would have thought that the day would come that I’d actually be looking forward to Winter?!
- spending time with new and old friends, in new and old ways. Impromptu yet epic roast beef dinners, sneaky karaoke-ing, fall bike rides through Wolseley, and long photo walks, for example
- i stocked up on Pumpkin Chai from David’s Tea the other day, since it’s my most favourite tea in the universe, but alas, is only available during Fall. I wonder how long 300g will last me…
- october has been a bumpy ride… a complicated mix of overwhelming excitement and unexpected loss, for me personally as well as many of my closest friends. I’m incredibly lucky to have so many amazing people in my life, who are there to lend a shoulder when I need one. And on the flip side, I’m honoured to know that my own little shoulder is just as effective when others need comforting.
- i’ve been carefully and thoroughly stocking up my supplies for Winter Hibernation ‘11: stacks of books, blu ray box sets, video games and cozy blankets. As soon as things start getting chilly, I start getting cozy. I bundle myself in sweaters and scarves, arrange myself a sweet blanket nest on the couch, and settle in for the winter. Just FYI, I don’t intend to come out again until Spring (except for important things like running out for coffee, or more books, and maybe the occasional Hot Yoga class. Oh, and Work, I guess…)
