the little things -- January
Now: - I’m super mega lovin’ the musical stylings of Florence + the Machine, Kimbra, and Gotye. (Click through to listen to my favourites) - Reading up a storm! I’m trying to be more active on Goodreads, mostly for an easy way to track how many books I read in a year. I’ll be curious to see how many I’ve finished by the end of 2012… - cooking some Spicy...

Murmuration from Sophie Windsor Clive on Vimeo. Watched this while eating a grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich is now cold and barely touched. This video blew me away.  I like that sometimes, puttering through the Internets leads me to something truly awesome and beautiful like this.

the little things -- october
- i can’t wait for the weather to turn chillier, so I can wear my new beautiful coat! Who would have thought that the day would come that I’d actually be looking forward to Winter?! - spending time with new and old friends, in new and old ways. Impromptu yet epic roast beef dinners, sneaky karaoke-ing, fall bike rides through Wolseley, and long photo walks, for example - i stocked up...

back to the bay
I’m all packed for a weekend roadtrip, to my hometown. I may only be going for five days, but I’m bringing my Holga, my iPad, and three books. How is it that every time I need one, I can never find any bikini tops? I’ve made a To Do list, and unsurprisingly, most items on it revolve around food. See you soon, NW Ontario :)

wanderlust
(from Californian Academy of Sciences — we’re underwater. And my legs are um, missing) It’s been three weeks since our trip to San Francisco, and I haven’t been able to get the city out of my head. How can I even begin to describe it? To experience the Pride Parade, in all it’s Lady Gaga-blasting, no pants wearing, rainbow flag-waving glory? Or the exact colour of...

We went to the Farmer’s Market this morning with Steph & Ivan. One of my favourite things about my schedule is that I always have Saturdays off. It’s swell. In addition to cherry jam and roll kuchen, we now have enough fruit & veggies to make all of this awesome stuff. Coming soon to a kitchen near… me! Vegan Strawberry Shortcake from Honest Fare Absurdly Addictive...

The Weakerthans are a huge part of my Winnipeg. I’ve loved lots of their songs over the years (One Great City!, Plea From A Cat Named Virtue, The Reasons), but this remains one of my favourite songs, of all time, ever. Circumnavigate this body of wonder and uncertainty. Armed with every precious failure, and amateur cartography, I breathe in deep before I spread these maps out on my...

I’ve been feeling inspired by Kyla Roma’s birthday list all week long, and have been adding to my own list throughout my not-so-surprise birthday weekend visit from my BFF and her fiance. It was a fantastic weekend, filled with farmers markets, beers and board games, and a LOT of delicious snackables. And a tiny smattering of girl talk, of course :) Anyhow, here goes. My list is in...
